  • How much spending money will I need?
You will need to bring some spending money with you, but not a great deal. Think of lunch, snacks and special drinks (we provide water and thea). This will all be cheap. Souvenirs, which you probably buy in Leh, vary in price. Most people can get cash out of the ATM. Research at home which banks charge fees and which not. Otherwise you can exchange money. Apart from Leh there are not many places where there are ATMS. We strongly advise you to exchange money as soon as you land in India at the airport. Or in Leh at the latest. You can always exchange your Rupees back when you get home if you haven’t used it.
  • How much luggage can I bring?
Make sure to check the maximum amount of luggage at the airlines. Mostly the domestic flights to Leh come with less than international flights. Please check with your airline to confirm, as they do vary. We recommend packing light!
  • Is there anything I shouldn’t bring?
This is an adventure. We recommend that you leave your expensive valuables at home. This includes laptops and other electrical equipment. Don’t bring clothing or footwear that you are worried about ruining. Expensive camera and computer equipment should be insured and well protected.
  • Do I have to return from India at the end of the tour?
No. If are you able to extend your stay we would recommend that you do so. India is a wonderful country and offers much to explore.
  • Do I need to be an experienced rider?
Experience does help however it’s more about being a competent rider. It’s important that you feel comfortable and confident on a motorcycle. We suggest that you have at least two years recent riding experience. We also recommend that you take an off-road training course/day before you fly. For 99% of riders this improves both safety and enjoyment.
  • Can I bring a pillion?

  • What’s the accommodation like?
Think basic, and nothing will shock you. The accommodation will vary as much as the terrain. It won’t be 5-star luxury, but it will always be safe, clean and the best we can secure in the remote areas we visit. Expect everything from hotels, lodges, cabin-style accommodation & tents. It’s all part of your adventure.
  • Will I have to share a room?
Wherever possible, rooms are allocated on a twin-share basis. If you are travelling with a friend or partner, let us know well in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you are travelling alone, you will be expected to share. Due to the remoteness of parts of the route, at times it may be necessary to sleep more than two to a room. Occasionally our requirement for twin-bedded rooms may exceed the availability and only double-bedded rooms may be available. Bring earplugs to ensure better sleep.
  • Will electricity be available?
Most of the time, yes. Power cuts are likely in some destinations on the tour, but these are usually short-lived. Be sure to pack a world adaptor if you need to charge your camera, phone etc. A power bank might be useful but not necessary.
  • Will there be internet access & WIFI?
In Leh you can get a Sim Card for Ladakh. But for sure you will not have coverage at all time. It might work and it might not. There are no guarantees. Most places we stay in have no WIFI due to the remoteness.
  • Will laundry facilities be available on the trip?
During the trip it’s recommended to hand wash your clothes. Due to the dry climate and high altitude it'll dry the next day. Washing means less packing. Bring some laundry soap.

  • How fit do I need to be?
You do not need to start marathon training, but it wouldn’t hurt to increase your cardiovascular fitness. If you are not doing any exercise and have no desire to join a gym, we recommend that you try to walk at a fast pace for a minimum of twenty minutes – three to four times a week, minimum. For those of you who are members of a gym, carry on as usual. Stamina is important because the combined effects of long rides, high-altitudes and hot/cold conditions can leave you exhausted. Combine this with early starts, little sleep and new food, and it becomes clear your body needs as much help as it can get. A small amount of effort prior to departure can make all the difference.
  • Do I need to have experience in yoga?
No. Our yoga sessions are simple and open to everybody who is able to take this kind of trip. Our bodies and minds will get challenged and exhausted. This is our way to keep agile, peaceful and relaxed.
  • What will the food be like?
Forget almost every Indian restaurant that you have ever been to. The food in India is incredible. Veg or non veg. It’s delicious. There’s enough choice to keep everyone happy and contrary to popular belief, not every dish is heavily spiced or ridiculously hot. Far from it. One of the best roadside drinks is Chai – hot sweet tea. It’s just so perfect & refreshing after a long ride. It might seem a little unusual at first, but I can assure you, you’ll be loving before the ride’s over. 100% Bottled water is safe to drink and is available everywhere. You can easily top up on a daily basis.
  • Should I tip?
    Tipping is at your discretion.
